Christmas markets, carnivals and other popular events punctuate winter in the heart of northern Vaud.
As the festive season approaches, discover the work of numerous artisans across the region at Christmas markets, from local produce to decorations of all kinds. From November 23 to December 24, discover the various markets taking place in the region.

Carnivals & Brandons
They mark the end of winter and herald the return of fine weather when the winter man is burned. Above all, they ensure a festive and convivial gathering in the heart of our region’s towns and villages: we’re talking, of course, about carnivals and brandons.
In the Nord vaudois region, there are five different festivals in the towns of Yverdon-les-Bains, Sainte-Croix, Orbe, Vallorbe and Grandson. With a variety of themes for each edition, everything is done to entertain young and old, with a number of activities in addition to the traditional processions and guggens.

Popular events par excellence: comptoirs
Even though we’re at the end of winter, we had to make a point of mentioning the counters before the warm weather sets in.
Comptoir de Sainte-Croix (27.02 – 02.03) and Comptoir du Nord vaudois in Yverdon-les-Bains (28.03 – 06.04).
Over the years, these commercial fairs have become ideal places to spend time with friends or colleagues. With places to eat and have a drink, and events for everyone, the counters promote the values of living together and conviviality, so dear to our region.
