Sandy beaches, nature reserves, small coves, and picnic areas are just some of the features that define Lake Neuchâtel in Northern Vaud. Discover a place perfect for relaxation and water sports.

Did you know?

Lake Neuchâtel is unique in that it has two very distinct shores:

  • On the north shore, from Grandson to Concise, the beaches consist mainly of pebbles and small stones.
  • On the south bank, between Yverdon-les-Bains and Yvonand, there are beaches with fine sand that are every bit as beautiful as those on the Mediterranean

Yverdon-les-Bains Beach

With its large, tree-lined lawns, gently sloping sandy shores perfect for families, and beach volleyball courts, this spot has everything you need for a great summer.

Several grills are available on site. In 2026, the city also unveiled redesigned water access points and installed an amphibious chair to facilitate access for people with limited mobility.

To rent a paddleboard, pedal boat, kayak, or other watercraft, head over toY-Plage.

A perfect setting, complete with a cozy restaurant and an adjacent campground, where you can enjoy sunny days.

The Little Beach

At the far end of the lakeshore, heading toward the Grande Cariçaie Nature Reserve, this small beach is the second sandy beach in Yverdon-les-Bains.

Yvonand

VD8 Campground Beach

Adjacent to the campground of the same name, this wide beach with fine sand is known far and wide. Its crystal-clear, shallow waters are very popular with families.

The beach has a few shaded areas under the trees, a snack bar, and a restaurant owned by the campground.

You can rent equipment at the water sports center La Base.

Port Beach

As its name suggests, this beach is located right next to the port of Yvonand.

A small, pleasant sandy beach where you can swim and enjoy water sports. The water sports center Les Vikings offers kayak and paddleboard rentals, as well as windsurfing lessons.

A bar and restaurant Le Colvert round out the offerings.

Pine Beach

Located at the far end of the Camping de la Menthue, this beautiful beach with fine sand is very popular. Because it gets a lot of sun, we recommend bringing your own beach umbrella!

There is a playground near the beach. The campground operates a snack bar located right on the beach, as well as a restaurant.

Goncerut Beach

Goncerut Beach offers a gentle slope and fine sand in a natural setting. Nestled among the trees, this cool spot is a welcome respite on hot days.

Grandson and the surrounding area

Tennis Beach

Located near the tennis and padel courts, this small beach also features a nice playground for children.

Please note that access to the water is relatively limited due to the nearby nature reserve.

Pécos Beach

The small beach at Pécos has facilities that are ideal for families: shaded areas, a playground, and a small, safe swimming area.

The restaurant adjacent restaurant and refreshment stand are perfect for satisfying your hunger and quenching your thirst.

Concise Beach

Located right next to the harbor, this small pebble beach is lined with reeds. It features a picnic table and a barbecue area for everyone.

Corcelettes Beach / Les Pins

Corcelettes Beach is located at the end of the Des Pins campground. It consists of pebbles and has a grassy area perfect for sunbathing. There is a snack bar right next to it.

La Merveilleuse Beach

With its large green space, this unspoiled beach in Grandson offers a few shaded areas under the trees.

Grande Cariçaie Nature Reserve

It’s impossible to talk about the lake without mentioning the Grande Cariçaie Nature Reserve. Located in Northern Vaud, it stretches from Yverdon-les-Bains to Yvonand.

Of course, swimming is obviously not allowed there. However, the boardwalks and observation decks will allow you to explore the local flora and fauna. Those looking for a bit of peace and quiet can observe birds, frogs, and other species in complete tranquility.
